The textile and clothing industry has undergone dramatic structural change in recent decades. Nevertheless, the entire textile chain – from raw material to the finished garment or textile product – is still present in the region and with the intensive use of the circular economy the textile sector can take over the innovation leadership in the euregio rhinemeuse-north.

This Innovation Forum exemplifies how innovative euregional companies and a university of applied sciences can support and drive a textile-company’s innovation process. Firstly, Frans Beckers, founder and owner of the dutch company FBBasic, shows how a
company can support and drive the innovation process, in particular in connection with the
concept of circular economy.

Secondly, Laura Kunze, project manager of the german company imat uve gmbh reports on a cross-border project on mixed fibre recycling. Finally, Prof. Dr. Rabe, head of the Research Institute for Textiles and Clothing (FTB), will give a keynote speech on the topic of “Rethinking the textile industry – shaping the future!”.
